We know eating healthy brings with it the thoughts of tasteless, soulless food, but these healthy chocolate protein balls will change your way of thinking. For a super-special zesty twist, we recommend adding some Doterra Wild Orange Blend.

What a spectacular snack that’s the pick of the bunch in protein levels, and to top it off it’s 100% gluten-free!

I have been making these protein Balls for our market Stall on a Saturday. We do a variety of smoothie tastings for our customers and wanted to show the versatility of our organic protein Blends by making Protein Balls for people to try. They have become really popular and I constantly get asked for the recipe! Once again another really easy recipe thats healthy and tastes delicious.

  • Gluten Free
  • Dairy Free (When using PPI Blend)
  • Refined Sugar Free

2 cups of activated almonds (soaked overnight)
10 dates (soaked in water to soften)
1/3 cup cup of coconut oil (melted)
1 – 2 tablespoons of raw cacao
1 tbsp raw shredded coconut
3-6 drops of Doterra Wild Orange Blend (optional)
1 tsp of natural vanilla essence
1 tbsp of rice malt syrup, honey or maple syrup (optional, as it depends on how sweet you like them)

Pulse almonds in food processor until fine.
Add all dry ingredients and blitz until combined.
Add all wet ingredients.
Blitz mixture until ingredients starts to stick together, scrape down sides intermittently.
Ingredients should stick together when pressed between your fingers, if its still dry try adding a little more coconut oil.
Be sure to taste as you go for your own desired sweetness.

Place ingredients into a big bowl and with a desert spoon scoop, roll into balls between your palms. You can made tiny bite size ones or the most popular is golf size balls.
