Green Smoothies While Pregnant

Green Smoothies are such a great way to increase your vitamin intake while pregnant. I sure wish I knew about them 17 years ago when I fell pregnant with my son. I always had that feeling that I needed something more but I just couldn’t figure out what it was? 

Drinking a delicious green smoothie 1-2 times a day will expose you and your baby an abundance of nutrients. Its also recommended while pregnant to eat small meals regularly, including a smoothie once or twice a day is going to make life a whole lot easier when trying to figure out what to eat!

Some essentials you and your baby are getting

Calcium strengthens bones and teeth  – Flaxseed, sesame seeds and almonds ( Ingredients in Vitality Nutrition Protein) Dark leafy greens e.g spinach, kale

Folic acid protects against spina bifida – Dark leafy greens and strawberries 

Iron for baby and the health of the placenta. Maintain a healthy immune system – Dark leafy greens

1 – 2 scoop Coconut or Chocolate Protein Blend

1 banana

1/2 cup strawberries

2 cups dark leafy greens

1/2 small avocado

2 cups coconut water or almond milk

1-2  cup ice 

Simply blitz in High powered blender until smooth. Can store for 1-2 days in fridge in airtight container

Note: If feeling nausea try adding a thumb of fresh ginger
